BONGISA & BATHEMBU
Bongisa & Bathembu exchanged vows at one of South Africa’s hidden jewels – Hogsback.
They then went on to Bongisa’s hometown – Fort Beaufort for their reception. It was a beautiful day and everything went according to plan. We wish them the very best, as they continue on their marriage journey.
QHAWE & SAKHE
The 15th December 2012 is a day that will forever be remembered by Qhawekazi & Sakhe. A day when they swore, before friends and family, to forever love, cherish and honor one another.
Jewel Weddings was honored to be part of the team that coordinated this momentous occasion. The wedding took place at Cypressdale, a serene country venue, on the outskirts of the city of East London. The purple colour scheme confirmed the royal affair that it truly was. We wish them all the best that life has to offer as they journey through this life as one.
LAVISA & DUMISANI
The vintage themed spring wedding of Lavisa and Dumisani was a splendid affair.
The reception was held at The Regent Premier Hotel, situated on East London’s beach front. We thank Fullcircle Photography for capturing every detail on the day.
PUMELELA & LINDILE
Spring time, a season for new beginnings.
How apt then that Pumelela & Lindile chose this season to continue the journey of life together. They were joined together as one on the 27 September 2013. Both the ceremony and reception were held at Cypress Dale, Chintsa, East London.
THATO & KELEPILE
This was by all accounts a destination wedding, as both Thato & Kelepile were not from or around their venue of choice.
What a masterstroke it turned out to be, as the weather was absolutely beautiful, only to be matched by the pristine coastal backdrop.
YANDA & ODWA
Wow is the most suitable word to describe the beautiful occasion that was the wedding of Yanda & Odwa Kupiso. The wedding was held on the 19 October 2013 at Gonubie Manor, East london.
Family & friends witnessed the couple’s pledge to love one another faithfully and forever. The love in the air was infectious and made more so by the laugh per minute MC and live band. All of this was captured exquisitely by Estefania Romero, Wedding & Portrait Photographer.
ZIYANDA & THEMBINKOSI
Ziyanda Dekeda & Thembinkosi Mashalaba became one before God and man when they were married on the 7th of December 2013 at the East London Golf Club.
The moment they looked into each others eyes and exchanged their wedding vows could only be expressed aptly in the following lyrics by Luther Vandross, in his song Here and Now: “I look in your eyes and there I see What happiness really means The love that we share makes life so sweet Together we’ll always be This pledge of love feels so right And, ooh, I need you….”
The venue is set a mere stones throw away from Nahoon Beach and the sound of the ocean and the beautiful greenery that surrounds the golf club provided a perfect setting for a day that marked the begging of their life’s journey together.
We wish them all the best that life has to offer and may their union, established on the Word of God, be the centre that holds everything together.
ZIKHONA & SABELO
Zikhona Zizo Swana & Sabelo Jela said I do on a beautiful November afternoon.
What started off as a chance meeting at a bus station turned out to be a lifetime commitment to take many beach walks, discover life, raise a family and explore together, forever.
AKHONA & ABONGA
The rain and wind attempted to bring a premature end to a beautiful day. However it was the love of Akhona & Abonga that was to win the day.
The weather had to conform. Both Akhona & Abonga were a joy to work with. This made planning and coordinating their wedding a seamless affair.
VIVI & THOMAS
In the heart of the Dolphin Coast, Ballito lies nestled between the fields of KwaZulu Natals famous Green Gold and is flanked to the east by golden beaches and the warm waters of the Indian Ocean.
It was against this beautiful backdrop that Vivi & Thomas promised to have and to hold each other, until death did them part. Both the exchange of vows and reception where held at the hidden jewel that is, Collesheen Estate – beautiful by day but exceptionally breathtaking by night.
SOSO & LWAZI
10th WEDDING ANNIVERSARY
Do you believe in God ordained destiny? Perhaps you should. The love journey of Soso Dekeda & Lwazi Dekeda makes a strong case for this. Having met in high school, in June of 1995, on the 17 September 2016 they celebrated not only 10 years of marriage but 21 years of love.
Naturally, as the visionaries & founders behind Jewel Weddings it only made sense that they would turn to us to plan & coordinate their 10th wedding anniversary. The anniversary was held at Landtscap. Situated in the picturesque mountains of Devonvale, Landtscap presents a contemporary and spacious wedding, event and conference venue.
Their gathering spaces are bathed in bright, natural light and insulated by a living garden on the roof. With a 270-degree view of mountains and lush greens, it is perfectly located on the verge of a hill overlooking breathtaking views. It provided the perfect setting to celebrate a life-time of love.
THANDO & THABSIE
We are sure that the people of Mxhelo, Alice will never forget the day when their son Thando celebrated his union with his African Queen, Thabsie. It was a day when modern Western chic embraced beautiful and graceful African culture.
The celebration took place in a beautifully styled and decorated bedouin tent, fully kitted out with wooden tables, pallet furniture lounge and flowers galore.
The highlight of the day was when Thabsie entered the tent dancing to her hit debut single, African Queen. We wish them all the best for the future.
SANELE & TUMELO
“Our story began in 2002 in the sunny Lubombo region of Swaziland, at the foot of the Mananga Mountain, hidden deep in the sugar cane fields. This union represents a 15 year journey of love, laughter and friendship, and we have always known that, by God’s Grace, it would one day lead to marriage.”
This was how Sanele and Tumelo described the beginning of their journey. What was foretold came to life when these High School sweethearts became lifetime lovers on the 27 April 2018 at Malkerns, Swaziland. The day was a memorable one, filled with joy and laughter, in the presence of family and friends.
NOS & THABO
“Twelve years ago, this love journey began in the Kingdom of Eswatini. We met by chance and after a determined young man’s two year pursuit, we became friends by choice and now soul mates, as fate would have it. I have never met somebody so determined & couldn’t understand why, he would just not leave me alone. He couldn’t understand that he just wasn’t my type, you know, haha!”
“There was something about her, a lot actually…”just right” dose of everything…that kept me going back…guess who was the last man standing. The rest, as they say, is history. Persistence was rewarded. Charm sealed the deal. Love persevered. Our love, laughter and friendship has truly been a reflection of God’s Grace through and through.”
Those were the beautiful words of Nos & Thabo, as they reflected on their love journey. This wedding marked our second return to the kingdom of Eswatini. We are blessed to have been part of their life & love story. We wish them a lifetime of success, love, laughter and friendship.
ROSEMARY & LIHLE
What a pleasure it was to work with Rosemary and Lihle.
We were glad to see them relaxed and enjoying their special day, knowing that we had everything under control on their behalf.
May the brightness of their union light up a million lives. We wish them the very best in the future.
ZIMI MANTYI
Queenstown was a blast as we styled & coordinated Amabhaso ka Zimi (kitchen tea). The weather, PD, audience, and general ambiance was so fantastic.
It gave us such joy to see the bride-to-be enjoy herself, on her special day. We are looking forward to putting together another Jewel Experience at the wedding next year.
ZIMI & VUYO
This beautiful love story begins with a destiny-defining encounter on a popular social media networking site for professionals. Little did Vuyo and Zimi know that they had started on a journey towards a lifetime of loving and committing to one another.
“Vuyo and I met online on LinkedIn in 2012, but only met in person in 2013. We have been the best of friends ever since. We are actually from the same hometown and most people even think that’s where we met. He has been nothing but such a blessing in my life. He loves me unconditionally. I’ve never doubted that he would one day make an awesome husband and father and I’m highly favoured to be calling him my husband.”
“Zimi and I met in December 2012. She had messaged me after realizing that we had grown up in the same town, though we didn’t know each other at the time. At the time we were pursuing the same degree, at the same institution, but at different campuses and in different cities. Upon completing our degrees, we were hired by the same company in 2014, and started on the same day in Johannesburg. We became colleagues and even better friends. In 2015, I decided to step up and apply for a more senior role in the friendship, and now we are here. Besides being my best friend and “partner in crime”, I saw the kind of wife I wanted in her, and that’s how I made up my mind.”
YANELISA & LUNGA
We will forever remember the 16th October 2021. It was an exceptionally special day that was so filled with love, peace and joy. Even the threatening rain had no choice but to recede and give way to the sun. This was the day when Lunga and Yanelisa took their relationship of 7 years to its predestined path of Holy matrimony.
“The 17th March 2021 marks 7 years from the day Lunga and I met randomly at a popular dinner spot in Bloemfontein. What started off as a random encounter one day become a purposeful encounter the next and since that day we have been inseparable. As much as we both don’t remember what the first conversation was about we remember how organic and easy it was to talk for endless hours together. I knew there and then that my heart had found a home.”
NOLUVUYO & SIBUSISO
What a pleasure it was to serve the Msitshanas on their special day. It is always so humbling to have clients trust us with their vision and resources, to do what we love to do – create beautiful experiences.
We wish the Msitshanas the very best of blessings, as they continue down this wonderful journey called marriage.
ZIMI & VUYO
TRADITIONAL WEDDING
From Amabhaso in Queenstown, the “white wedding” in Chintsa, our marriage celebration journey with Vuyo & Zimi Hlati came full circle as we headed back to Queenstown for the traditional wedding.
And what a day it was. Love and joy were the order of the day. We are so blessed to have been part of this extravagant and beautiful celebration.
